Through discourse, the client identifies uses and goals for the photography. BAEP will propose an execution plan to accomplish these goals. Variables include number of photographers, digital assistants, managers, supplies, travel costs, etc. Rates will vary based upon the proposed logistics. We do ask the client to be willing to discuss the photography budget, as it is an important marker on how to scale the operation to meet these goals.
Often clients maybe a bit queesy on talking numbers in their budget. We dont play games here. we have fixed rates for the various services and staffing, so our prices reflect a scaling of services, not bloating the hourly rates. One recent large corporate convention, my client let me know we were a few thousand under budget. I proposed staffing more photographers to scale the photography coverage. This allowed more eyes out in the field and a higher level of return, in images, for the client. The overall result was a win for the client as our depth of coverage increased.
